Its beginning to feel a lot like…

Christmas?? Where’s the cold weather? Where’s the snow? Christmas in South Florida is certainly not what I want. Right now we have a “cold front” which is what, like 60 degrees?? Its beautiful during the day, don’t get me wrong and I enjoy it but when its 90 degrees on Christmas day, it kinda stinks. Growing up in NY, snow was almost a guarantee for Christmas Eve and the day of. Every house and apartment balcony, it seems were covered in festive lights. While people do decorate here, its not the same. I don’t know how to describe it either, but its just different. Our Christmas in Missouri had snow. We made snow angels and were so happy with a hot cup of cocoa (or coffee :) ). Here… well, I can have a “hot chocolate” ICED. I’m not a “hot drinker’ on hot days.

Regardless, I have decorated our apartment very Christmasy and I love it. Stockings are up on the wall, not a fire place. Artificial tree is up, because I’m allergic to the real stuff, and I will be buying canned “frost” for our windows haha! Though Christmas here is not like how I remember it or want it to be, it still is Christmas. Its not about weather or presents, but also about being selfless and giving, and to truly appreciate life and all who are in it. But the gifts don’t hurt either! :)
