I have always considered myself a strong person. In a way I still think that I am kinda tough, I served 3 yrs. In the US Army!! You have to be pretty tough to survive the mans Army.

When I became a mother 9 years ago all that toughness went out the window. Jeromy was the cutest, fattest baby around. Everyone was sooooo amazed at how fat he was, especially since his birth weight was only 6.1 lbs.

Thank goodness all these years later we were blessed with our second miracle Jayce. He has the biggest, prettiest blue/grey eyes!! Jayce is very fair (light) like me. Believe or not, the African American community often finds great pleasure in discussing and even picking fun at his complexion. When he was 1st born I got all the who’s baby is that jokes. I dealt with initially, but as he gets older to still here all the white jokes about my 7 mo. old perfect baby is beginning to be hurtful.

I find myself becoming very defensive and upset when someone comments about his complexion, I have even been asked in a mall was he adopted and who’s baby was he.

I can’t tell you how many tears I have shed,,, Bottom line is that Jayce is fair, with big blue/gray eyes & sandy red hair, but he is just perfect.

And I thank God for him every single day,
